Ben Streeter is an editor and writer based in Washington, DC.
Ben is currently the copy editor and fact checker at Stateline, a journalism outfit of The Pew Charitable Trusts which provides daily reporting and analysis on trends in state policy. Prior to his tenure at Stateline, Ben worked as a copy editor for The Hill, a political newspaper in Washington, DC, and as a copy editor and page designer for the Carroll County Times in Westminster, Maryland.
He is currently a Master's student in English Literature at The George Washington University, specializing in contemporary literature and cultural criticism. Ben received his bachelor's degree at Gettysburg College, where he majored in political science.
He began his editorial career in his college town, editing for The Gettysburgian, the college newspaper, and editing and writing for Celebrate Gettysburg magazine.
Ben has also interned at The Gettysburg Review, one of the country’s premier literary journals; started a film blog for the Majestic Theater, writing movie reviews; and was an editorial assistant and reporter at the Hanover Evening Sun.
Ben was born in Philadelphia and raised in France. He lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC with his wife, Michele.
